This sensor module demonstrates strong adaptability to ambient light conditions. It incorporates a pair of infrared transmitter and receiver tubes. The transmitter emits infrared light at a specific frequency. When the detection path encounters an obstacle (reflective surface), the infrared light is reflected back and received by the receiver tube. Following processing by the comparator circuit, the green indicator light illuminates. simultaneously outputting a digital signal (a low-level signal) via the signal output interface. The detection range can be adjusted using a potentiometer knob, with an effective range of 2 to 30 centimetres. The operating voltage is 3.3V to 5V. The sensor’s detection distance is adjustable via the potentiometer and features low susceptibility to interference, ease of assembly, and user-friendly operation. It is widely applicable in numerous scenarios, including robot obstacle avoidance, obstacle-avoidance vehicles, assembly line counting, and black-and-white line tracking.

1. When the module detects an obstacle signal ahead, the green indicator light on the circuit board illuminates at a high level, while the OUT port continuously outputs a low-level signal. This module has a detection range of 2–30 cm and a detection angle of 35°. The detection distance can be adjusted via the potentiometer: turning the potentiometer clockwise increases the detection distance; turning it anticlockwise decreases the detection distance. 2. The sensor employs active infrared reflection detection, making the target’s reflectivity and shape critical to detection range. Black surfaces yield shorter detection distances than white ones; smaller objects are detected at shorter ranges than larger ones.
3. The sensor module’s output port (OUT) may be directly connected to a microcontroller’s I/O port or used to drive a 5V relay. Connection method: VCC-VCC; GND-GND; OUT-I0.
4. The comparator employs the LM393 for stable operation.
5. The module may be powered by a 3-5V DC supply. Upon power-up, the red power indicator illuminates.
6. Features 3mm screw holes for secure mounting and installation.
7. Circuit board dimensions: 3.2cm × 1.4cm.
8. Each module’s threshold comparison voltage is factory-set via potentiometer prior to dispatch. Unless under exceptional circumstances, please refrain from adjusting the potentiometer.
