The infrared emitting diode of the TCRT5000 sensor continuously emits infrared radiation. When the emitted infrared is not reflected back, or is reflected but insufficiently intense, the infrared receiving tube remains in the off state. At this point, the module’s output terminal is at a low level, and the indicator diode remains unlit. When an object enters the detection range, the reflected infrared light reaches sufficient intensity to saturate the infrared receiver. Consequently, the module’s output terminal transitions to a high level, and the indicator LED illuminates.
